How to Make a Restaurant Flyer in 2 Minutes (No Design Skills)

Thursday afternoon. You remember the weekend special you forgot to promote. You want it on Instagram by tomorrow and a few copies taped up by the front door. Your designer is slow or expensive. You do not have the patience for another round with Canva. That flyer needs to exist by dinner service.

Here is the version that works. Two minutes, one flyer, no design skills.

What takes most people forever

Picking a template. You open any design tool, you see hundreds of options, you waste fifteen minutes scrolling. None of them are quite right. You pick one that is close, then spend another twenty minutes forcing your content into a layout someone else designed for a different restaurant.

Skip that entirely.

Describe what you want, in one sentence

Open AIFlyer. Type the flyer you want the way you would say it to a friend. Something like this:

"Taco Tuesday at Luna's. Two-dollar tacos from 5 to 8pm. Every Tuesday. Make it feel like a beach bar, yellows and blues, with a photo of tacos."

Hit generate. You get a real flyer in about thirty seconds. Headline, layout, colors, photo, all based on what you described.

This is the part that throws people off the first time. You are not picking a template and then filling in blanks. You are describing a flyer and getting one back.

Fix the two things that matter

Ninety percent of the flyer will be right the first time. The two things to check before you export:

  1. The price. If the price is the reason anyone walks through the door, the price should be the biggest thing on the flyer. If it is not, drag it bigger. Two taps.

  2. The photo. If AIFlyer picked a stock photo and you have a better one of the actual food, swap it. Click the image, upload yours, done.

If the time, date, or location is wrong, fix those too. But most of the time, the copy lands close enough that you can ship what you got.

Export for wherever it is going

You usually need the same flyer in three places: Instagram, a printed copy by the door, and maybe a WhatsApp broadcast to regulars.

  • Instagram feed: square, 1080x1080. Export as PNG.
  • Printed copy: PDF, letter or A4.
  • WhatsApp: same PNG works. Compressed by WhatsApp automatically.

The export screen handles all three. Pick the format, download, post.

Total time from opening the tool to a posted flyer: under three minutes the first time, under ninety seconds once you have done it twice.

What this is not for

Full menu redesign. A printed tri-fold brochure for a catering pitch. Anything where the physical design IS the product.

For weekly specials, event nights, happy hour changes, new menu items, seasonal promos, grand openings, the flyer does not need to be a work of art. It needs to be legible, it needs the price, and it needs to exist by Tuesday. That is a job AIFlyer is actually good at.

The honest version

I ran a bar for three years. Every Monday I would sit down to plan the week, get halfway through the flyer for our Tuesday special, realize I was already late for inventory, and end up posting a photo of a beer with the price typed over it in Instagram Stories. It worked, barely.

The whole reason AIFlyer exists is that the "make a flyer" problem is smaller than the tools for it pretend. Most of the time you do not need a designer. You need something that looks like a human who respects their own business made it, and you need it before dinner service.

Two minutes, one flyer, no design skills. That is the bar.

FAQ

How long does it actually take? First time, about three minutes. After that, closer to ninety seconds for a flyer you generate from scratch, or thirty seconds if you are updating last week's special with this week's numbers.

Can I add my own photo of the food? Yes. Upload replaces the AI-chosen image. Your photo of the actual dish will almost always outperform a stock photo.

What sizes does it export in? Instagram square (1080x1080), Instagram story (1080x1920), PDF (letter or A4), and a shareable link that works on WhatsApp or text. One flyer, all the formats you need.

Do I need design skills? No. If you can describe the flyer in one sentence, AIFlyer can make it. If you can tell the difference between "the price is too small" and "the price is the right size," you can edit it.

Does it work for bars and food trucks too? Yes. Same flow. Describe what you are promoting, get a flyer, edit the price and photo if needed, export.
